Yahiro & Megumi

Saiga Yahiro
Birthday: July 7
Blood Type: AB
Favorite Food: Akira's homemade pastries
Carefreee and playful at first sight, Yahiro seems like a typically harmless guy--that is until you know his darker side. Yahiro is a childhood friend of Takashima Kei and Toudou Akira, and is the only person known to have defeated Kei at least once. He attends Kokusen Academy and is the heir to the Saiga Financial Group. When he was a child he had little to no friends due to his lack of trust, knowing that most children only played with him because the parents knew of his high and rich status. Even though Akira was his first love and genuine friend, in recent chapters he has given up his feelings for her and finally seems to be on good terns with the S.A.

Yamamoto Megumi
Birthday: February 14
Blood Type: AB
Favorite Food: Strawberries, cough drops
Ranking fourth in the S.A., she is the daughter of famous vocalist and music producer. Megumi is constantly seen with Tsuji Ryu and her younger twin brother Jun. Passionate with her love of music, Megumi loves to sing despite having a terrible voice. Treasuring her voice though, Megumi stays quiet and uses her sketchpad to communicate with other and only speaking when she needs to or in complete distress. She happens to be horrible with sports and dislikes participating in them. Growing up with Ryu and Jun all her life, she is fiercely protective of them especially when another person threatens to take them away or shows any sort of affection to them. A good example is Sakura with Jun and Finn with Ryu.♥

One Step at a time

Considered to be the second most popular pairing for the S.A. series in Japan, Megumi and Yahiro's interaction can take anyone by surpirse. Seeing how they had little to no interaction's in the beginning of the series, just how did Megumi and Yahiro begin talking to each other? it actually all began after Tadashi informs everyone in S.A. that he and Akira are dating, Megumi is once again reminded of Yahiro and the boy's unrequited feelings towards Akira. Knowing Yahiro and his rather rash behaviours, Megumi tries her best to protect Tadashi and Akira's new relationship by becoming Yahiro's girlfriend--even if she hates him with a passion.

After confessing to Yahiro and managing to get a date it seems with Yahiro there's always a catch: She must play a game where she tries to get him to say the date was fun. As much as she wants to strangle the boy, she must endure for the sake of S.A. Through the date he learns of Megumi's horrible siinging and even learns why Megumi doesn't speak. It's because she wants to protect her voice from getting hurt since she loves singing so much. Surprisingly after Yahiro gets Megumi to speak in the date though, he immediately shuts her up and runs across town to buy her a new board to replace her sketchpad. Wasn't he supposed to be annoying? Megumi blushes and immediately begins to use the present and Yagiro turns away smiling.

Just when the date was finally getting interesting, Akira and Tadashi come across the pair. Akira quickly assumes that Yahiro is trying to hurt Megumi, but he doesn't deny it. Why wasn't Yahiro trying to act like a bad guy? Isn't he supposed to love Akira? Megumi soon tells Akira off saying that she and Yahiro are currently on a date and they shouldn't interrupt much to Tadashi and Akira's surpise. When Megumi is finally alone with Yahiro, Yahiro assures her that he won't do anything to Akira and Tadashi and she should go home. Megumi tells him to stay at the spot though ans soon runs off to a far off terrace where she sings to him.

Megumi: He acts as the bad guy for the sake of not making Akira worry. Then who will worry about you? At least I'm here to support you and cheer you up. And sing for you. So now can I ask you? Are you happy? This game has not ended yet, right?

Her singing reaches Yahiro's heart to the point that he even shed a tear from her kindness, but when she runs back to ask him if this date had been any fun Yahiro of course gives his usual sarcastic smile and and says, "Not at all. ♥"

During New Year's, Megumi asks Hikari to attend "The Happiness Stone Event" with her. Whomever gets one of the twelve stones will achieve happiness and this intrigues Megumi. While Hikari dealls with her own dilemma, Megumi tries to get a stone herself but since she can't exactly fight for one like Hikari she decides to sing for one until Yahiro comes in causing her to stop. Yahiro ends up beating up a bunch of the men chasing after the stone and her offers it to Megumi. He wishes people would enjoy her singing more, but she tells him that she was actually planning to give a stone to him. Yahiro just turns away and says he can't accept it. When the countdown begins Hikari throws the stone she got to Megumi and Megumi offers it to Yahiro telling him to give it to the girl that's special to him. Yahiro just blushes and asks if she's an idiot.

Though many other situations come across Megumi and Yahiro, even at one point having to be her fake boyfriend just for the sake of her mother, Megumi's love for Yahiro grows as time passes by. When she accidently confesses to him due to his persistance in helping her in singing lessons before her performance in front of a producer Yahiro is quite surprised. Though she tries to avoid him, he appears in her small concert and encourages her to sing exactly the way she did that day on their first date in his own Yahiro-esque way (aka he throws the stone she gave him on New Year's at her head and orders her to sing properly. Haha!). After recieving an applause and compliments on her singing, she and Yahiro are left alone again. Even if he's not ready to fall in love again, he still gives her the stone that she gave him at New Years. Megumi is special to Yahiro and even though he has rejected her maybe in the future something may develop on his side.
